Information - Brighten the Corners 2024 – Cornhill

Brighten The Corners Festival returns in 2024 on Friday 14th and Saturday 15th June. The multi-venue festival will take place across BTC-run The Baths, St Stephen’s Church and The Smokehouse, as well as Ipswich Corn Exchange and the free-to-attend outdoor stage on the Cornhill.

Friday’s headliners are Ibibio Sound Machine, known for their jubilant live shows, who take inspiration the golden era of West-African funk & disco and modern post-punk & electro. Join us for the party!

Our Saturday headliners are the post-punk band Shame, who have risen to fame over the past decade for their angst-driven anthems and passionate, political viewpoints.

And lots more! Our latest lineup announcement includes some of the most exciting names in music right now, with electronic indie project Art School Girlfriend, Hot Chip’s frontman Alexis Taylor for a late night DJ set, indie rock group The Mysterines, rapper and producer Jay Prince, Brighton based three piece Lambrini Girls, post-punk and art rock inspired Folly Group, DJ Nabihah Iqbal, indie pop trio Girl Ray, jazzy hip-hop and genre-bending artist Yoni Mayraz, plus maaany more. Stick the festival playlist on shuffle and dive in!

“It’s a showcase to the wider world of what Ipswich has to offer: in music, in venues, in people and ideas. It succeeds on every count, and is as good an example of place-based festival-making as you could imagine.” — CLASH

You Don’t Need To Be An Expert To Get Involved In Pride in Place

The Pride in Place programme - a government investment for Whitehouse and Stoke Park/Chantry of £20m into each area over 10 years - is trying to change that.
