Information - Blank Page – Drawing sound workshop with Carl Cole and Emma Denby

Join musician and sound artist Carl Cole with sculptor and painter Emma Denby for this free creative workshop for 10-16 year olds at Gainsborough Community Library, as part of The Blank Page Project! Explore the connection between visual art and music with this hands-on creative activity.

Workshops take place from 9.45AM to 3.30PM and include a free lunch, drinks and snacks!

The workshop will explore how art can be created in response to music and encourage participants to think about how a sound can “look”, before looking at how we could interpret artwork by using sounds and music. After exploring this connection, we will look for inspiration within the library setting, using illustrations from books to inform what work we create, and thinking about the world beyond the picture. Participants will get to create their own canvas to bring a scene to life and display!

You Don’t Need To Be An Expert To Get Involved In Pride in Place

One of the biggest misconceptions about community projects is that they're only for people with impressive CVs, professional backgrounds or years of experience sitting on committees. The Pride in Place programme - a government investment for Whitehouse and Stoke Park/Chantry of £20m into each area over 10 years - is trying to change that.
