Information - Ipswich County Music School

Junior and Intermediate ensembles follow a programme of weekly rehearsals during school term times, leading to shared performances and concerts throughout the year.

These ensembles are for musicians aged 7-18 who are at a standard equivalent to grade 1-3 and who might have already taken part in a First Access Ensemble.

There is a fee to join the ensemble but bursaries and reduced costs are available, including for people who are in receipt of free school meals and looked after children – reduced costs can be applied for via the Suffolk Music Service website

Bursaries can be applied for via the Suffolk Music and Arts Alumni Trust website

Orchestras, String orchestras, Bands and varied music skills including:

  • World percussion
  • Improvisation
  • Musicianship
  • Solo playing skills
  • Chamber ensembles
  • Singing
