Information - Kids Sewing, Crochet and Knitting for Beginners Classes

Beginners’ sewing, crochet and knitting classes for young people aged 8-14.

Our sewing classes focus on machine sewing through a series of projects. No machine is necessary to take the class but if you have one, please bring it along.

Our knitting classes start with finger knitting and move on to knitting with needles when appropriate.

Crochet classes are for children aged 9 and upwards and will be focusing in on making chains and double stitches.

All materials are included in the classes. We are happy to also give advice on suitable machines for children. Classes run from 1-2 hours depending on dates and children should be able to concentrate for this period of time without issue.

Parents are welcome and encouraged to stay for the class.

You Don’t Need To Be An Expert To Get Involved In Pride in Place

One of the biggest misconceptions about community projects is that they're only for people with impressive CVs, professional backgrounds or years of experience sitting on committees. The Pride in Place programme - a government investment for Whitehouse and Stoke Park/Chantry of £20m into each area over 10 years - is trying to change that.
