Put Your Thinking Caps On: A Brand New Pub Quiz at The Church

Looking for a midweek challenge that’s more about fun than high-pressure trivia? Well, the title says it all: “Mate, it’s just a Pub Quiz.” We are so excited to announce this brand-new regular event at one of Ipswich’s most atmospheric venues, The Church.

Whether you’re a font of useless knowledge or just fancy a laugh with your mates, this is the perfect way to break up the week. Grab your cleverest (or funniest) friends and get ready for a night of questions, drinks, and friendly competition.

Everything You Need to Know

Thinking of entering? Here is how it works:

  • Teams: Gather a group of 4 to 6 players.
  • Price: It’s just £3 per person, which you can pay on the night.
  • Timing: Doors open at 6pm so you can grab a drink and settle in. The quiz itself kicks off at 7:30pm.

Grab a Table

Space is likely to fill up fast for this one! To make sure your team has a spot, you’ll need to book a table in advance. When booking, just let the venue know how many people will be on your team so they can get everything ready for you.

(Tip: You can find the booking contact details on the venue’s official website or social media pages!)

Event Details

  • Date: Wednesday 19 August 2026
  • Time: 6pm – 10pm (Quiz starts at 7:30pm)

Accessibility at The Church

We want everyone to be able to join in the fun. The Church provides step-free access into the venue, and once you’re inside, the bar, the main seating area, and the accessible toilets are all located on the same floor. If you have any specific requirements to make your visit more comfortable, feel free to reach out to the organisers who will be happy to help.

So, do you know your 80s pop from your ancient history? There’s only one way to find out. We’ll see you at the quiz!

You Don’t Need To Be An Expert To Get Involved In Pride in Place

One of the biggest misconceptions about community projects is that they're only for people with impressive CVs, professional backgrounds or years of experience sitting on committees. The Pride in Place programme - a government investment for Whitehouse and Stoke Park/Chantry of £20m into each area over 10 years - is trying to change that.
