Information - The Barge at Large

Set sail for a summer of imagination and creativity with free art, craft, and storytelling workshops designed especially for children aged 5–11. Climb aboard Victor, Ipswich’s very own historic sailing barge, and dive into a different world each week through hands-on activities inspired by Suffolk’s rich maritime past.

Every Wednesday, starting 30th July, throughout the summer holidays. Choose from:

  • Morning session: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
  • Afternoon session: 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM

 

  • Make pirate-themed crafts inspired by Suffolk legends
  • Hear tales of mermaids in the River Orwell
  • Learn the magic of sun-powered photography
  • Create nautical map collages using real charts of the local waterways
