Information - All Star Rock School – Juniors

Our junior sessions are a fun, engaging way for pre-teens to develop their musical passion. Each junior student will learn their chosen instrument in a rehearsal setting with experienced tutors helping them nail the notes and expand their skills. We’ll introduce more complex beats and rhythms in line with graded tuition but in a fun environment where students will master tracks and plan gigs in their local area.

WHY IT ROCKS
Junior sessions are structured around a band environment. The students will learn rock tracks with experienced tutors on the path to including them in a set list for their gigs. The level of tuition is tailored to the individual student, but we’ll be arming them with the technical skills needed to attack their grades if they choose. Each week new tracks will be introduced that require students to learn new disciplines that cover their instrument but also in areas such as production and performance.

Sessions are designed to introduce skills that build teamwork and collaboration. We organise a schedule of public events and we get our students involved in the preparation, so they take ownership of their performance and their roles in their band. Each weekly session includes Plug & Play where every student is encouraged to take to the stage, helping to develop confidence and teamwork skills.

You Don’t Need To Be An Expert To Get Involved In Pride in Place

One of the biggest misconceptions about community projects is that they're only for people with impressive CVs, professional backgrounds or years of experience sitting on committees. The Pride in Place programme - a government investment for Whitehouse and Stoke Park/Chantry of £20m into each area over 10 years - is trying to change that.
