Information - IMYA Talk: Wonders, Worlds and Habitats

Join us on 22nd July from 5:30 to 6:30 PM at Christchurch Mansion for a special talk with Simon, one of our museum curators, as he shares insights into the development of the Wonders, Worlds and Habitats gallery spaces in the new Ipswich Museum.

This gathering is part of the Ipswich Museum Young Associates programme, tailored for young enthusiasts aged 14-25.

Discover how these galleries have been designed to showcase the rich natural history and cultural stories of Ipswich and the wider region. Simon will explore the themes, objects, and behind-the-scenes decisions that have shaped the displays, offering a fascinating glimpse into the curatorial process. This is a unique opportunity to learn more about the new museum and ask questions about how exhibitions are brought to life.

You Don’t Need To Be An Expert To Get Involved In Pride in Place

One of the biggest misconceptions about community projects is that they're only for people with impressive CVs, professional backgrounds or years of experience sitting on committees. The Pride in Place programme - a government investment for Whitehouse and Stoke Park/Chantry of £20m into each area over 10 years - is trying to change that.
