Saxons v Loughborough University – National Badminton League

The Saxons are coming! The Saxons are coming!

Get ready, Ipswich! The Saxons are back with an even bigger R-O-A-R than before as the National Badminton League returns to the Ipswich Corn Exchange. This season, the Saxons will host three thrilling matches, all with eyes on securing a spot at the Finals in May 2026.

Meet the Team

Watch some of the UK’s top badminton talent in action, led by international coach and former Olympian Anthony Clark. Captaining the team is Sean Vendy, ranked World #10 in Men’s Doubles—an athlete you don’t want to miss!

Season Highlights

  • First match victory against Nottingham University in December
  • A nail-biting match at Milton Keynes against Skyfall in January
  • Upcoming exciting battle vs University of Loughborough during February half term
  • March showdown with Manchester Badminton featuring Sean Vendy facing his long-time doubles partner, Ben Lane

The pace will be lightning-fast, the skill incredible, and every point will count. Watching from just feet away, you’ll feel the electricity of the game in one of East Anglia’s most iconic and atmospheric venues.
